AI Virtual Staging Tools Compared: Who Each One Is Actually For

We make one of the tools in this comparison. You should read everything below with that in mind, which is exactly why this page does not tell you we are the best. It tells you which tool suits which job, names the cases where you should pick someone else, and ends with a twenty-minute test you can run yourself so you do not have to take anyone's word for it — including ours.

All prices below are the vendors' own published figures, read from their pricing pages and checked on 2 August 2026. Prices in this category change often. Verify before you buy.

First: the units do not compare

This is the single most useful thing on the page, and almost every comparison article skips it.

  • AI Flip Room counts generations. One generation is one render of one photo in one style.
  • Spacely AI counts credits, and its own pricing page indicates roughly two credits per render — 500 credits described as about 250 renders.
  • Virtual Staging AI counts photos per month, which is a different thing again: a photo allowance may permit more than one attempt on the same image.
  • REimagineHome counts credits per month.

So a headline like "250 a month" against "60 a month" against "500 a month" is comparing three different quantities. Any article that ranks tools by that number without saying so is not comparing anything. Convert everything to renders you can actually download before you decide, and if a vendor's page does not make that conversion clear, treat it as a question to ask them.

The published numbers

AI Flip Room — Free: 3 generations, watermarked, standard resolution, no card. Pro: $46/month, or $39/month billed $468/year — 250 generations a month, watermark-free, 60+ styles, custom text prompts, 2K downloads, commercial licence. Agency: $99/month, or $89/month billed $1,068/year — 1,000 generations a month, plus furnish-empty-room, 4K PNG and multi-style preview.

Spacely AI — Free: 40 credits, described as free forever, watermark-free, with a commercial licence. Personal: $20/month, billed $240/year — 500 credits, about 250 renders. Studio: $40/month — 1,500 credits, about 750 renders, up to 2 seats. Agency: $80/month — 3,500 credits, about 1,750 renders, up to 5 seats. Credit top-ups from $9 for 200.

Virtual Staging AI — Basic: $16/month, $192/year — 6 photos a month. Standard: $19/month, $228/year — 20 photos. Professional: $39/month, $468/year — 60 photos. Enterprise: $79/month, $948/year — 150 photos, with API access. No watermark, furniture removal included.

REimagineHome — free trial of 5 designs with no card required. Paid tiers run 30, 200, 400 and 900 credits a month. Its pricing page advertises a range of $14–$99/month but did not itemise a price against each tier when we read it, so we are not going to guess which tier costs what.

Where we are not the right choice

Two of these are worth saying plainly, because you will find them out in five seconds anyway and you should hear them from us first.

If you want a generous free trial before you commit, we are not the best option. Spacely offers 40 credits — roughly 20 renders — watermark-free and with a commercial licence, free. REimagineHome offers 5 designs with no card. We offer 3 generations, and they carry a watermark. Ours is enough to judge whether the output is any good; it is not enough to do a listing with, and it is not the most generous trial on this list.

If your only criterion is renders per dollar at the entry tier, we are not the cheapest. Spacely's Personal plan is $20 a month for about 250 renders. Our Pro is $46 a month for 250 generations. On that one axis, they win, and it is not close.

Where we think we are the right choice

When the geometry has to survive. This is the failure mode that matters in listing photography and the one we have spent most of our engineering on: windows that change shape, doors that disappear, rooms that quietly get larger, furniture blocking a doorway. Our engine runs an automated quality check on every render and regenerates when it fails. Whether that beats the alternatives is a question about output, and the last section of this page is about how to find out rather than believe us.

When you need range. 60+ interior and outdoor styles, and custom text prompts on top — remove the sofa, paint the walls dark green, swap the bed for a desk — rather than a fixed set of presets.

When you stage vacant properties. Furnish-empty-room is a distinct job from restyling a furnished one, and it is where staging earns most of its money on real listings.

When you need 4K for print, or want to render one room in several styles side by side and pick the winner.

When the disclosure question matters to you. We have read the actual rulebooks in Ontario, California and British Columbia and published what they say, including where the widely repeated claims are wrong. Every image we produce is marked.

Where someone else is probably right for you

  • Highest volume for the lowest monthly cost: look at Spacely's credit tiers and top-up pricing.
  • Very low volume — a handful of photos a month: Virtual Staging AI's $16 entry plan is cheaper than any monthly plan we sell.
  • You want to try properly before paying anything: start with Spacely's free credits or REimagineHome's free designs.
  • You need a specific integration — SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino — Spacely lists those and we do not.

What we have not tested

We have not run competitors' output through our own quality checks, because that requires accounts and paid usage. So nothing above is a claim about anyone's image quality, including a claim that ours is better.

We think that is the question that actually matters, so we are going to answer it properly: the same room photographs through several tools, results published with the defects marked, whatever they show. If it goes against us we will publish it anyway, because a comparison that could only ever have one outcome is not worth reading.

Run your own test in twenty minutes

Honestly, this beats any comparison page, ours included.

  1. Pick three of your own photographs. One empty room, one furnished and dated room, and one awkward space — a narrow bonus room, a basement, a room with an unusual window. Do not use the sample images the tools provide; those are chosen because they work.
  2. Run the same three through two or three tools, using each one's free tier.
  3. Check the output against the room, not against your taste. Count the windows. Look at the door. Is the ceiling the same height? Could a person walk from the doorway to the window without climbing over an armchair? Has any permanent fixture changed?
  4. Then judge the styling. Only after the geometry check, because a beautiful render of a room that is not your room is worthless on a listing.
  5. Note the turnaround and the licence. Speed matters when you are doing eight rooms; the licence matters the moment the image goes on an MLS.

Whichever tool survives that, buy it. Our 3 free generations are there for exactly this, and our guide on how to photograph rooms for staging will make every tool in your test perform better.

If you think we have described a competitor's plan wrongly, tell us and we will correct it.
