Before and After Maker: Two Room Photos, One Post

Pick a before photo and an after photo. The tool puts them side by side or one over the other, sized for the Instagram feed, Stories and Reels, TikTok or YouTube, with BEFORE and AFTER labels, and you download one image ready to post.

Your photos never leave your device. Nothing is uploaded to our server: the browser opens both photos, draws them on one image and saves a new file, without the camera, location and date data (EXIF) of the originals.

JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 25 MB each. They stay on your device: nothing is uploaded.

Pick both photos to save the image.

3. Layout

Room photos are usually wide: top and bottom keeps more of each room on square, portrait and story sizes.

4. Text on the image

How to make a before and after

  1. Pick the before photo and the after photo: the same room, from the same spot.
  2. Choose the size for where you post: 4:5 for the Instagram feed, 9:16 for Stories, Reels and TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube and websites, 1:1 for anywhere.
  3. Choose side by side or top and bottom. If the part you want is cut off, slide the crop.
  4. Switch the labels on or off, then download a JPG (or a PNG, for the sharpest text).

Tips for a before and after that reads at a glance

  • Same spot, same height. Stand where you stood for the before photo, at the same height, with the same zoom. A mark on the floor or a tripod helps.
  • Same light. The same time of day, the same lamps on, the blinds the same way. Otherwise the change looks like a new day, not a new room.
  • Walls and windows line up. When the room's shape stays put, the eye goes to what changed: the furniture, the colour, the finish.
  • Level camera. Hold the phone level so the walls stand straight in both photos.

Virtually staged? Say so

If the after photo is virtually staged, label it: switch on the “Virtually staged” plate before you download. For the listing photos themselves your MLS's rule decides. Many MLSs accept a plain label, some ban any text on listing photos. The label maker checks your MLS before it stamps, the disclosure wording tool gives the exact words and where they go, and the rules by state and province are on one page.

Questions about the maker

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser opens both photos, draws them on one image and saves the new file on your device. Nothing is sent to our server, and the saved file carries no EXIF data from the originals: no camera, location or date.

Which sizes can I make?

1:1 (1080 × 1080), 4:5 (1080 × 1350), 9:16 (1080 × 1920), 16:9 (1920 × 1080): square and portrait for feed posts, 9:16 for Stories, Reels and TikTok, 16:9 for YouTube, X and websites. Each photo fills its half and is cut to fit; you can slide the cut.

Can I use the collage as a listing photo on the MLS?

A before-and-after collage is for social posts, your website and emails. Listing photos follow your MLS's rules: many accept a plain “Virtually staged” label, some ban any text on listing photos, and some want the original photo shown as well. Check your MLS with our label maker and disclosure wording tool.

Do I need an account, and is there a watermark?

No account and no watermark. A small “Made with aifliproom.com/tools” credit sits in a corner by default; switch it off if you like.

Why does my HEIC photo not open?

Some browsers cannot read HEIC, the iPhone's photo format. Save the photo as a JPEG, or on the iPhone set Settings, Camera, Formats to Most Compatible, and pick it again.
