Editorial Standards: How We Check Our Guides

Agents, sellers and writers use our guides to decide how to label a listing photo, so the guides have to be right. This is how we write them and check them, and what to do if you find a mistake.

Who writes our guides

The AI Flip Room team. Articles are published under the company name rather than a personal byline, and the team answers for them together. Questions about any article go to support@aifliproom.com.

Primary sources, quoted and dated

A rule comes from the document that sets it: the MLS rules and regulations, the statute, or the regulator's guidance. We quote the words that matter as they are written, link the document, and give the date we read it. The staging rules guides work this way market by market.

A number comes from the survey or report that published it, with a link to that report. When we can only find a number quoted by someone else, we mark it as a secondary source. Numbers from our own renders are labelled as ours and kept apart from industry surveys, as on the staging statistics page.

Where we could not find or confirm something, the article says so instead of guessing.

How we use AI

We make an AI staging tool, and we use AI tools for research and drafting too. A guide is published only after its quotes, numbers and links have been checked against the sources it cites. AI is not a source: nothing is stated because a model said it.

Images

Staged images in our guides are renders made with AI Flip Room. Each is compared with its original photo before it is published, and a render with a visible defect is not used, not even as an example of what can go wrong. Diagrams are drawn for the article and show a principle, not a real room.

Our interest, stated

We sell virtual staging, and our guides link to our tool where it fits. That does not change what a rule says: rules are quoted as written, including the ones that make staging harder, such as bans on text on photos or a required unstaged original. We don't write reviews or rankings of other companies' products, and we don't take payment for coverage.

Updates and corrections

Rules change. When we learn that a rule we cover has changed, we update the guide and quote the new wording.

Spotted an error? Email support@aifliproom.com with the page address, what is wrong and, if you have one, the source. We check it against the source; if we got it wrong, we correct the article and reply to let you know.

Not legal advice

Our guides explain rules and how they apply to staged photos. They are not legal advice. Before you publish a listing, check the current rules of your MLS, board or regulator; the free disclosure wording tool shows the rule each wording comes from.
