Which staging style fits your listing?

7 quick questions about the buyer, the price, the region and the home. The answer is one or two styles from our library, each with a before-and-after example and the reason it fits. The quiz runs in your browser: no account, and your answers are not sent anywhere.

Question 1 of 7: Who is the most likely buyer?

Start from the person most likely to buy, not from your own taste.

Question 2 of 7: Where is the price in your market?

The furniture should look like what a buyer at that price owns, or one step better.

Question 3 of 7: Where is the home?

Region is a nudge, not a rule: a downtown condo in Phoenix is still a city condo first.

Question 4 of 7: What kind of home is it?
Question 5 of 7: Which space matters most in this listing?

It picks the example you see. A backyard or patio switches the result to our outdoor styles.

Question 6 of 7: Which light and colour suit the home?
Question 7 of 7: If the buyer furnishes it for real later, what budget is realistic?

A staged photo should show a home the buyer could actually furnish.

How the quiz decides

Each answer adds points to the styles that suit it, and the style with the most points wins; a second style is shown when it comes close. The points follow our guide which staging style for which listing: the buyer first, the price second, the region as a nudge. We know of no study that compares one staging style with another, so the quiz gives reasons, not percentages.

The quiz only suggests styles we can show you in a before-and-after pair. Browse all of them in the style library and the before-and-after showcase.

Whatever you pick, use one style for the whole listing, and label every staged photo the way your MLS asks: the disclosure wording tool gives the exact words.
